SWEDISH MID 19TH CENTURY HAND PAINTED OAK DOME TOP COFFER CIRCA 1852.
VIBRANT AND BEUTIFUL DOME TOP TRUNK OF GRAND PROPORTIONS. HAND PAINTED BY JONS PERSSON (1811-1866) WHO WAS BASED IN THE SOUTH EAST AREA OF VALLEBERGA. RARE TO FINE A COFFER IN OAK AS PINE WAS THE USUAL WOOD USED.
PAINTED IN A BLUE BASE, WITH RED, GREEN AND YELLOW SWAGS, FLOWERS AND DECORATION. INITIALED S.N.S AND DATED 1852.
ORIGINAL DECORATIVE PAINTED IRON STRAP WORK AND HINGES. INTERIOR PROVIDES A WEALTH OF STORAGE SPACE AND A FITTED CANDLE BOX. COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL LOCK AND KEY.
