OAK 19TH CENTURY PAINTED SWEDISH BENCH CIRCA 1890.
RARE SWEDISH BENCH IN THAT THIS IS MADE OF OAK, WHEN NORMALLY THEY ARE MADE FROM PINE, WHICH MAKES THIS BENCH MORE LIKELY THAT IT WAS MADE IN A SOUTHERN REGION OF SWEDEN.
STRAIGHT BACK, WITH SHAPED BACK REST, ROLL TOP ARMS WITH EXPOSED SPINDLE SUPPORTS. STANDING ON A MODEST CABRIOLE LEG.
WITH AMPLE SEATING FOR 3 OR A FRIENDLY 4 THIS BENCH WOULD BE PERFECT FOR RUNNING DOWN 1 SIDE OF A DINING TABLE, OR EQUALLY WELL IN A HALLWAY / GARDEN ROOM.
ORIGINAL PAINT SHOWING OBVIOUS SIGNS OF FADING AND WEAR, WHICH IS NOW SHOWING THE DELIGHTFUL OAK BASE WOOD UNDERNEATH.
