FINE QUALITY 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY BREAKFRONT BOOKCASE OF LARGE PROPORTIONS, CIRCA 1840.
SUPERB BREAKFRONT BOOKCASE IN THE MANNER OF AND POSSIBLY BY GILLOWS OF LANCASTER. CONSISTING OF 6 GLAZED DOORS TO THE TOP OF THE BOOKCASE AND 6 PANELED DOORS TO THE BASE.
WHEN YOU OPEN THE PAIR OF DOORS TO THE LEFT YOU REVEAL 6 DRAWERS BEHIND. WITH FOLIO PARTITIONS TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE.
BEHIND THE MIDDLE DOORS YOU HAVE A SECRETAIRE DRAWER WITH DRAWERS AND PIGEON HOLES. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT AND LOVELY QUALITY BOOKCASE THAT WE THINK WAS MADE FOR THE LIVERPOOL MUSEUM IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF THE 1900S
FITTED WITH JOESPH BRAMAH LOCKS TO THE SECRETAIRE.
MINOR REPAIRS TO VENEER. EVIDENCE OF BEING FITTED TO BACK WALL RAIL. ORIGINAL PATINA AND COLOR.
