19TH CENTURY EBONISED MARBLE TOP CENTRE TABLE CIRCA 1820.
FINE QUALITY EBONISED MAHOGANY CENTER TABLE VERY MUCH IN THE TASTE OF BRIGHTON PAVILLION IN ENGLAND.
ORIGINAL CIRCULAR MARBLE TOP WITH BULL NOSED EDGE, SUPPORTED BY AN EBONISED TURNED STEM, DECORATED WITH BRASS ACANTHUS LEAF DETAILING AROUND THE APRON AND BULBOUS STEM. HALF SECTION BRASS COLLAR, LINKS TO THE TRIPOD BASE, WITH FURTHER BRASS EDGING. STANDING ON SCROLLED FEET.
EXPECTED LOSSES TO PAINTWORK, WHICH ALLOWS US TO SEE THE ORIGINAL MAHOGANY WOODWORK UNDERNEATH, AS THIS PIECE WAS LIKELY TO HAVE BEEN EBONISED LATER IN THE 19TH CENTURY, IN LINE WITH FASHION TRENDS FOR FURNITURE OF THE PERIOD.
